Personalized Classes (Kesler)
Classics are, generally speaking, classics for a reason… While personal preferences may vary, most books in this category are objectively well written and good reading. They encourage imagination, vocabulary, excellent writing and critical thinking skills, and so much more. It seems to be an unfortunate trend that the classics available are increasingly passed over in favor of reading books which I, personally, along with many parents I’ve spoken to, don’t believe live up to the traditionally held standard of classic literature—quite a disservice to students and our society at large!
For so many reasons, it’s been a joy for me to have the opportunity to introduce young readers to truly classic books through online literature classes, and to inspire the next generation of readers as we read, write, discuss, study, and complete assignments.
I was delighted to hear from Kaleigh Kesler that she was hoping I could teach a few personalized classes for her daughters and their peers. After lots of communication with her and considerable thought, below are details for the classes I’ve put together. I’m honored to have the opportunity to teach, encourage, and mentor your readers.
Classics & Writing - Early Teen
(Classic books, writing, art, cooking, and other enriching projects).
Classics & Writing - Teen
(Same idea, but with more advanced books, more writing instruction, and assignments.
